Opal Seal for orthodontic Patients

Dr. Alison is now able to provide a new and exciting product to benefit her orthodontic patients during treatment.  This product is called Opal Seal.  This cutting-edge product functions in similar ways to a sealant that a dentist may apply. Opal seal is applied to the front of the teeth before braces are placed to provide a protective barrier against decalcification or white spots.

Opal seal works by delivering a constant, safe, low dose of fluoride to the enamel surface that helps prevent decalcification and subsequent white spots.   Opal seal is invisible, non-yellowing, and resists staining.  Dr. Alison is excited about using because Opal Seal because it can add a little extra protection to the patient’s teeth without changing the appearance of the teeth!

Patients will still need to get their regular six month cleaning with their dentist.  Proper oral hygeine is still essential to have the best result possible for the patient!  A consistent routine of brushing and flossing is essential to preserving health enamel.

Healthy Recipe of the Month

The staff at Reid & Reid will be adding a new recipe to the blog each month for our patients. We hope you enjoy the recipes and look forward to hearing your input on future recipe requests!

Blueberry Blast:  Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and sprinkle granola in the bottom of each one.  Stir the blueberries into vanilla Greek yogurt and add honey to taste(for kids over 1).  Divide yogurt mixture evenly between the liners. Freeze for 3 hours, or until firm. Enjoy!
